This metope, one of fifteen in the British Museum's permanent collection depicts chaos erupting between a Lapith and a centaur. The metope is severely damaged, with the Lapith missing both his head and his right leg, below the knee. The centaur is missing both his head, as well as his front right leg.
This page is most likely missing a few pages. The front details someone's statement, though the author is unknown. It tells of phrases spoken by Abner Tate that were overheard by Mrs. Hazel. The botton of the page inquires what the author/interviewee would think if they heard such phrases. The last line appears to have the initials S. D. G. that may be the author of the page. The back side includes questions 13 through 18 that were most likely asked in court.
In these pieces of John's statement, John corroborates that which his wife Sarah said in her statement. The small pieces of paper detail the strange stories told by Mrs. Hazel that were out of character and not representative of the people she spoke of. He also mentions what she stated of the murder of the man she cannot name and how a Mrs. Jones assisted by covering the "offensive smell." He also writes of Mrs. Hazel's accusations of Mrs. McDavid stealing her money and medicines. In the larger piece, John Pool brings up the porch location that she supposedly witnessed the murdered man from.
The tank on the left is labeled "V-2 Alcohol Container," while the tank on the right is labeled "V-2 Liquid Oxygen Container." On the far right of the photo is the "V-2 Propulsion Unit." In the background are various businesses, including P. M. Woodfin Cotton, Anderson Clayton & Co. Cotton Buyers, and First National Bank.
This paten and chalice were created for St. James Picadilly in 1683. It was designed to complement Sir Christopher Wren's, the architect of the church, rich interior.
This personal letter to Oscar Goldsmith from his grandson, also named Oscar, details the removal of young Oscar's tonsils and his gaining eight and a half pounds. He also writes of his first refrigerator sale and his hopes to sell more, though he is "no salesman". He conveys some information from his mom and thanks him for making her trip to New York possible. Finally, young Oscar thanks Papa Oscar for paying his tonsil removal bill, and promises that he can take care of his dentist bill.
Jeannette thanks her uncle, Oscar Goldsmith, for letting them stay with them and getting to know the family. She details the difficult travels home and her plans to visit her father's family in Marietta.
