The “Gothic Church” of First Baptist Church Huntsville was located here before it was torn down and the congregation moved to the current church building on Governors Dr. It is now a Regions corporate office building that was completed in 1990.
Merrimack Mill was a mill that sponsored a number of things and created a booming industry for the town. Later it opened up the Joe S. Bradley school, and the mill was eventually turned into Huntsville park!
Wisdom Falls is located near what used to be the Monte Sano Hotel but is now in Monte Sano State Park. The Hotel opened in 1887, closed in 1900, and 1944 the Hotel was torn down. The falls can be found along the South Plateau loop, near SE Nolen Avenue.
