Description
An account of the resource

As the space race began in the early 1950s, the United States and the Soviet Union began to design rovers for the moon that would be able to traverse and learn about the lunar surface. This research and development eventually led to the Lunar Roving Vehicle, or LRV, a battery-operated, manned transport that accompanied Apollo 15, 16, and 17 astronauts to the moon (Wade).

This collection covers the development of this vehicle, from early Soviet missions to its deployment on the lunar surface.
