In the letter, Croxton discusses an agreement made between the University of Alabama and Redstone Scientific Information Center (RSIC) to share library services and materials, including journal subscriptions, messenger service, and access to the RSIC facility.
In the letter, McCanless requests the transfer of scientific and engineering journals from Redstone to support research and teaching at the University. A list of the journals is enclosed.
In this memo, members of the English Department protest the removal of library materials from Morton Hall to the Graduate Studies Building (later Madison Hall). The writers report their concern that "the housing of English materials in the graduate studies building, we are convinced, will prohibit the students' availing themselves of library facilities."

UAH held classes at West Huntsville High School in the 1950s before the university had its own campus.
UAH organized the conference as part of the annual John Sparkman Symposium on United States Foreign Policy. According to the 1979 conference proceedings, the symposium was "founded to bring major issues in United States foreign policy to public discussion by providing a forum in which scholars and experts from government or the private sector might meet." The conference featured speakers including historians, military officers, political scientists, and politicians from Huntsville and across the United States.

UAH, then known as the University of Alabama Huntsville Center, circulated this letter in preparation for class registration and the center's integration in June 1963. Mason addresses the impending arrival of the first Black student, Dave Mack McGlathery, though he is not named in the letter. Mason emphasizes "that the academic program will proceed smoothly" and that "all persons and property will be protected," namely through a new student identification card system. Dave Mack McGlathery integrated the Huntsville Center on June 13, 1963, as he walked into Morton Hall to register for classes. His arrival proceeded uneventfully, though National Guardsmen were present to maintain order. Along with Vivian Malone, McGlathery was a plaintiff in the lawsuit to desegregate the University of Alabama.

Von Braun, then the director of Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, delivered this speech to the legislature in 1961. In the speech, he emphasizes that Alabama must take advantage of its position in the aerospace industry and create a robust "academic and research environment" in Huntsville to attract businesses that "will give birth to major new industries throughout the state." He exhorts the legislature to fund the newly established University of Alabama Research Institute (now part of the University of Alabama in Huntsville), arguing that "the Institute will not only be self-sustaining, but will enrich the State both financially and culturally." The legislature later approved von Braun's request of $3 million for the Research Institute, enabling the purchase of 200 acres of land for the campus and the construction of the Institute in 1964. The speech includes copies of slides von Braun used during his presentation, including diagrams of Saturn and Nova rockets as well as a mockup of a Saturn rocket on the lawn of the state capitol in Montgomery.
