"Monte Sano Park: The Master Plan."

The map notes park roads, buildings, telephone lines, trails, overlooks, and cliffs, and includes drawings of picnic and camping areas, a pool, and a lodge. Locations such as Inspiration Point, the former site of the Monte Sano Hotel, Natural Well, O'Shaughnessy Point, the fire tower, and the C.C.C. camp are marked. The map was taken from "aerial photographs as drawn by O.G. Graves" based on a land survey conducted by John F. Davis.

Back: NASA'S SA-5 undergoing pre-launch check-out. The Saturn is the free-world's largest space booster. It develops a million and a half pounds thrust. The NASA Marshall Space Flight Center at Huntsville. Alabama, has been developing and providing rockets for our space achievements since the very beginning of our entry into this field.

"Natural Wells. 350 ft drop in solid rock -- Monte Sano."

The well is a large limestone cave shaft located near the site of the Hotel Monte Sano.

"Notes on the Nickerson Case."

A typed version and the andwritten notes regarding the Nickerson case. The author is unknown. These notes regard Nickerson's "Considerations on the Wilson Memorandum" and more.

Intro shows the exterior of the Dannenberg residence as well as the yard in October of 1956. Remainder of film shows Klaus and Ingeborg Dannenberg visiting Huntsville High School.

"OGMS Open House."

Konrad, Klaus, and Ingeborg Dannenberg tour the Ordnance Guided Missile School during its open house in 1957. Shown are many of the U.S. Army's latest missiles, such as the Lacrosse, Dart, Corporal, and Nike Ajax.

The label on the inside of the can notes, "Optimist Picnic. Parade. Memphis Zoo about 1952."

"Papers relating to Richmond Steele Matters."

Written on Wheeler Construction Company (Vicksburg, Canton and Yazoo City Rail Road.) letterhead, this letter addressed to "Gentlemen" is badly burnt and difficult to discern the subject matter. It appears to have been signed by Crawden & Newman of Huntsville, Alabama. The back contains a handwritten note that reads, "Papers relating to Richmond Steele Matters."

This is a card used to record a "Personal Pledge" of money for a university fundraiser.

"Plat of Monte Sano."

Drawn for James F. O'Shaughnessy, the map shows the Monte Sano Hotel, the community of Viduta, Laura's View and Laura's View Station, and natural features of the mountain, such as Chalybeate Spring and Natural Well. The map also features names of property owners O'Shaughnessy, J. R. Stevens, Mrs. M. W. Wells, Milton Humes, and W. J. Pulley.

"Please help us by returning Library Books."

This flier advertises a two day period during which no fines will be charged on overdue library books if they are returned on Wednesday, December 11 and "Thursday, December 12 from 10 A.M -- 10 P.M. at the Huntsville Center Library."

"Progress."

This pamphlet provides information about the General Electric Company's Apollo Support Department. This information includes details about the Apollo Support Department's mission and sites, individual examples of "What ASD'ers do" at places like the Kennedy Space Center and the Merritt Island Launch Area, details on the General Electric Company's competitor the Boeing Company, Huntsville and its campus, individual "ASD People," and personal accident insurance.

"Recommendations for a consolidated library."

The flier discusses coordination of library services between the UAH Library, the Research Institute, and Redstone Scientific Information Center.

"Redstone Arsenal 1972 Unofficial Guide."

This guide to Redstone Arsenal contains a history of the Arsenal, complete with pictures of "Army Missiles of the Past" and details about the Army Commands stationed there, as well as descriptions of the amenities, facilities, and social opportunities available on base and in the Huntsville area.

"Remarks by Patrick Richardson to the UAH President's Council November 1, 1996 on the M. Louis Salmon Library Dedication."

Richardson's comments include a biographical sketch of Salmon with details of his World War II service, law career, and civic involvement. Richardson also notes Salmon's involvement in the UAH Foundation.

"Reports of the Ad Hoc Committee on Development of the University of Alabama in Huntsville."

The contents include: "Report I. The Nature and Scope of Undergraduate Programs at the University of Alabama in Huntsville," "Report II. The Nature and Extent of Graduate Programs at the University of Alabama in Huntsville," and "Report III. The University of Alabama Research Institute." The reports include a list of membership of the "Ad Hoc Committe on Development of the University of Alabama in Huntsville," as well as letters from University of Alabama President Frank A. Rose and development committee chair Alex S. Pow, then Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University of Alabama.

"Request for Downgrading of Classified Document."

On behalf of the defense counsel, Charles R. Zimmer writes to the Army Staff Judge Advocate, Colonel Clifford F. Cordes, to request that the report of the Inspector General of the Department of the Army be downgraded from classified to unclassified. Zimmer states that he feels without this document being accessible to the defense counsel, the "defense in this case is being hampered."

The pamphlet includes a reprint of an article from RCAA publication Space Journal, a history of the organization with photos, and membership information.

Roofing work continues on the Dannenbergs' new house. In this film, the roof is being built over the family room. Klaus Dannenberg is shown climbing up onto the roof to check it out. Summer/Autumn 1958.

"Run Down on Department of Army IG Report."

Various handwritten notes on the Army missile program and other information pertaining to the case of Colonel John C. Nickerson, Jr.

"Saturn and Noise."

The pamphlet uses a cartoon character named "D. B. Noyes" to explain to the public "the nature and effects of the noise which Saturn makes during static firing tests."

"Science Historians Join With Research Institute."

Clipping from the UAH Exponent, Wednesday, December 10, 1969, vol. 2, no. 10, page 3. The article highlights the work of Barton C. Hacker and John S. Beltz to collect historical documents from the Saturn program. The documentation they collected is available at UAH Archives and Special Collections in the Saturn V Collection.

"Scientific Instruments for a Soft Landing Stationary and Mobile Lunar Vehicle."

This paper by John Bensko and other members of the lunar research group provides preliminary information on scientific instrumentation used for lunar exploration.

"Score with the Chargers: See UAH Charger Hockey this season."

This leaflet includes a schedule for the 1989-1990 UAH hockey season, a diagram of Von Braun Center (VBC) seating, and a ticket order form.

"See other side! July 1957."

Dannenberg family move into the house of Leland Belew and show the front garden. They also visit the McCrarys' house and show some of the flowers in the front yard of this house. Konrad Dannenberg's notes on the film box read, "Box 290 Panorama Drive. We live in the Belew's House. 15 May 57 Visit at the McCrary's <-- Title only! Same detail flowers at Panorama Dr."

"Senior Officers Debriefing Program."

A conversation between Lieutenant General Austin W. Betts, Colonel Henk, and Colonel Wahle, published as a part fo the US Army Military History Research Collection. This conversation details the "Army versus the Air Force difficulties in the late '50's" during the transfer of the missile and space program. This program switch was the basis of the case United States v. Colonel John C. Nickerson, Jr. as Nickerson was in charge of the program. This document contain only the portion relative to Colonel Nickerson.

"Senior Officers Oral History Program."

A project of the U.S. Army Military History Institute, this contains the interview of Dr. John L. McDaniel by Lieutenant Colonel Joseph W. Camp, Jr. from 1985. The interview is about the US Army's first satellite into space. McDaniel brings up the case of Colonel Nickerson relative to the interview. This document contains only the portion of the interview that mentions Colonel Nickerson.

"skylab 3 SCIENCE & ENGINEERING IN ORBIT" brochure.

This brochure describes the duties and responsibilities of the Skylab 3 crew, including experiments and repairs.

"Snow in H’ville, Lucky in Snow, Winter 67/68, Backyard in deep snow."

Video shows the aftermath of a snowstorm on Monte Sano, Huntsville, Alabama. The video surveys the surrounding neighborhood as well as captures the Dannenbergs' dog, Lucky, playing in the snow. Winter 1967/68.

Konrad Dannenberg opens film by showing the woods around the Dannenberg residence covered with snow. Then film transitions to show a number of people trying to shovel out someone's car as well as Klaus and Ingeborg Dannenberg having a snowball fight and playing in the snow. February 1958.
