Stuhlinger attended the launch of Apollo 11 with her husband Ernst Stuhlinger, then the Associate Director for Science at Marshall Space Flight Center. In the entries, she describes her reaction to the launch and the successful lunar landing and makes note of the celebrations she and her family attended in Huntsville. She also records her daily activities, including socializing with neighbors and shopping with her children. A translation is included.
The pamphlet includes biographical information on the three Apollo 11 astronauts as well as Wernher von Braun, then director of Marshall Space Flight Center. The back of the pamphlet congratulates the NASA and aerospace employees in Huntsville "who have made this historic achievement possible."
The photos show scenes from the sesquicentennial festivities in and around the square, including people dressed in early nineteenth century attire, storefronts, and street decorations.
