Gays and Friends: UAH's First LGBTQ Student Organization

UAH students organized the first LGBTQ organization on campus in Spring 1991. Conceptualized as "a non-political, non-sectarian student organization for the unity of the heterosexual and homosexual communities at UAH," the group was met with both hostility and acceptance.
